Raid Finder Loot System Still Sucks

I know it's hardly news and that no-one really cares but I just needed to vent off somewhere about the loot system in LFR and how idiots can still abuse it.

Today's idiot (see above) is Speck from Ravencrest, despite having the 403 version of the agi staff from Deathwing he still felt the urge to roll need on the LFR one and of course the gods of LFR loot favoured his roll over mine (on my hunter alt ofc) and everyone else that needed it and had done the same thing with the boots which robbed a rogue of them too. Well let's hope he spends the gold wisely.

UPDATE: I went back in this morning and  got lucky without having to cheat.

Curing the Ghost Towns

When leveling alts I notice a distinct lack of activity in leveling zones and hanker for the "good old days" of WoW when there were dozens of people in a zone questing together, sharing banter in /1 rather than just me, a couple of max levels farming mindlessly and an archaeologist flying overhead. A lot of my fondest memories are of group questing while leveling and today Blizzard have announced cross-realm zones a great feature that could be about to restore that feeling. Could this be the end of realms as we know it? Will it make our battlegroup our local community rather than our realm?

WoW Ironman: Ironiana Dings 48

OK so the image above probably gives the game away so for the nay sayers out there, yes I failed to get to 85, but I don't think I have actually failed because I learned a lot about myself, the way I play the game, the way the game works and more importantly answered a lot of questions about how other players the game too.

As experiments go I'd say it was a really good experience and I was always going to succeed whatever happened, I just didn't realise that my success criteria was not limited to hitting 85 and sticking to the rules.

Holy Sheet

The new off spec
I have recently changed my off-spec to Holy because I no longer "need" to have a shadow spec for grinding daily quests to build up my guild rep and finally getting my 2500 daily quest achievement. I had specced dual-disc for times when I wasn't able to heal effectively with Atonement, but found that I simply wasn't using the non-Atonement spec. This week and last week, I'm working nights on the progression nights so am running with the bench/alt team which already has a Disc priest so decided to give Holy another bash as I haven't tried it seriously since December 2010 just after Cataclysm launched.

My initial task was to revisit the tree and decide how I wanted to spend my talents in the Holy tree.
